Last night was a proud moment for many country singers as they received their awards at the 46th annual Academy of Country Music Awards (ACM). Reba McEntire hosted the Awards Night alongside Blake Shelton as they announced the nominees and winners.

rebaThe show included performances with top singers including Miranda Lambert, Dierks Bentley, Sara Evans, Brad Paisley, Carrie Underwood and Alabama. Taylor Swift even performed her song, “Mean” on the banjo and pop star Rihanna sang a duet with Sugarland’s Jennifer Nettles to the song “California King Bed.”

Miranda Lambert, 27, scored big by stealing the most awards, four of them actually. Her hit song “The House That Built Me” won her three of those awards and she claimed the Single Record of the Year, Song of The Year and Video of the Year. Lambert then snatched the honor of being named as the Female Vocalist of the Year award.

Lady Antebellum managed to score big as well with their three trophies: Top Vocal Group of the Year award as well as the Album of The Year as both artist and producer for their huge hit “Need You Now.”

The young vocal artist Taylor Swift, 21, managed to steal the coveted prize of being named as the Entertainer of the Year over well-known nominees Jason Aldean, Tobey Keith, Brad Paisley, Keith Urban and Miranda Lambert. This is the only major award that is decided upon by the fans. Her album sold 1 million copies within the first week of its release last fall. Swift was so excited when she heard her name being announced that she did a little dance and headed over to hug Lambert and Paisley on her way to the stage. Ryan Seacrest presented her the award and she responded, the “ fact that this is from the fans makes it so beautiful.”

Let’s not forget some of the guys who won last night too.

For his fifth time in a row Brad Paisley won Top Male Vocalist of the Year, Eric Church won Top New Solo Vocalist, The Band Perry won Top New Duo/Group, Sugarland won Vocal Duo of the Year, and the Zac Brown Band that featured Alan Jackson for their hit song, “As She’s Walking Away” won Vocal Event of the Year.

A-list celebrities were in attendance last night in Vegas including Celine Dion, Chace Crawford, Reese Witherspoon and even the British hottie that drove the Twilight fans crazy, Robert Patterson. Nichole Kidman showed up in support of her Country Star husband Keith Urban and Witherspoon and Patterson got the opportunity of presenting the Female Vocalist Award to Miranda Lambert.

The crowd was definitely entertained while Carrie Underwood, 28, air-kissed Steven Tyler, 63, during their Aerosmith duet performance, “Walk This Way.” Tyler bent down for the kiss and she blew an air-kiss back at him. Good thing her husband wasn’t on stage at that moment.
