People Watching Movie in Movie TheaterIt’s finally Friday! For everyone’s busy work week it’s time for a nice weekend for those relaxing moments. What better way to spend those still-chilly winter days than inside a nice movie theater with friends or snuggled up with a partner for a good flick? To help you decide what movies to watch this weekend, here is a list of recently released movies.

Paranormal Activity: The Marked Ones

We all remember the terrifying first film that started the “Paranormal Activity” series. The latest came out in theaters last week. Throughout the film viewers get the chance to see the usual fun effects that surround the films such as possessed people, symbols, violent activity, erratic behavior and more. In this newest addition, the story centers on a pair of teenagers, Jesse (Andrew Jacobs) and Hector (Jorge Diaz). After a long and grueling school year the two look forward to a fun and relaxing summer. However, a frightening incident involving the murder of a neighbor quickly changes their plans. On the night of the murder the teens are brushed against an encounter that is outside their experience of reality. When the protagonists break into their neighbor’s apartment, they discover their neighbor was involved in ritualistic work and they find various items of strange origin. Things become even stranger when Jesse discovers a dark mark on himself after stealing a book of occult origin. After witnessing a series of strange erratic behavior from Jesse, his friends and family believe something may be possessing him.

lone survivorLone Survivor

Based off the true story of an eye-witness account from sole survivor Marcus Luttrell. Luttrell wrote the book, “Lone Survivor: The Eyewitness Account of Operation Redwing and the Lost Heroes of Seal Team 10,” about his team’s failed mission and their heroic efforts. The story’s setting takes place during the War in Afghanistan. A group of four Navy Seals, SEAL TEAM 10, are sent on a mission called Operation Red Wing, in 2005, to capture or assassinate a Taliban leader, Ahmad Shah. However, tragedy strikes the ill-fated team as the four men, Marcus Luttrell (Mark Wahlberg), Matt ‘Axe’ Axelson (Ben Foster), Danny Dietz (Emile Hirsch) and Michael Murphy (Taylor Kitsch) find themselves attacked and surrounded by over a hundred Taliban forces.

The Legend of Hercules

Many of us know of the great mythical demi-god, Hercules, the hero of the Greeks. Due to his half-divine heritage, being the son of Zeus, Hercules was born with god-like strength. In this latest adaptation of Hercules’s story, Hercules (Kellan Lutz) finds himself exiled by his treacherous stepfather, King Amphitryon (Scott Adkins), and forced into slavery at the gladiator arenas. Along the way the hero falls for the beautiful Cretan princess, Hebe (Gaia Weiss), a woman promised to his brother. Hercules will need to rely heavily on his strength to win his battles to the death if he is to survive and fight for his kingdom.
